Middletown Location
Mondays
Rehearsals will take place once a week. Rehearsals will take place at Middletown Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 6 Orchard Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Please bring a water bottle and a positive attitude. Rehearsals will take place from Monday. Parents may sit and wait in the lobby but are not permitted to watch rehearsals. Wappingers Location
Thursdays
Rehearsals will take place once a week. Rehearsals will take place at the Mid-Hudson Chinese Christian Church at 306 All Angels Hill Rd, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. Please bring a water bottle and a positive attitude. Rehearsals will take place on Thursday afternoons. Parents may wait in the lobby but are not permitted to watch rehearsals. Voice Class - Wappingers Location only
Voice Class will be a small group session that focuses on the basics of singing. Instructors will spend time working with the singers on vocalises and healthy, age-appropriate vocal technique and warm-ups. Students will learn when to access their head voice, utilize tall vowels, and focus on making sure to produce a good tone in their singing. Singers will also work on continuing to improve their musicianship.
The instructor will spend time teaching introductory solo vocal repertoire (Level 1 or 2 NYSSMA songs), such as songs from The Sound of Music, folk songs like Shenandoah, or other classic Broadway or folk tunes.
Singers will have a chance to perform these vocal solos during our informal concert/family & friends performance or at a coffeehouse concert.
The class will only be offered if a minimum of 3 singers are enrolled and will have a maximum class size of 5 students to provide individualized instruction. The class will be offered to singers who are first in 6th grade or older.
The class will meet on Thursday from 4:45-5:15 PM. Four classes will total $100.
The classes will be: 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/19 (in the event of a cancellation, a make up class will be offered 2/26).
Voice Class - Instructor: Ms. Hali Wack
Hali Wack is a Hudson Valley music educator and musician. She studied Music Education at the Crane School of Music with her main instruments being Voice and French Horn. Currently, Hali teaches K-5 Music and Chorus in the Dover Union Free School District. She can be found performing with many groups around the Hudson Valley such as Cappella Festiva, the Woodstock Symphony Orchestra, and the Southern Dutchess Concert Band. In addition, Hali also performs, directs, music directs, and plays in pits for musicals.
